Everything, answered.

Every question we get asked about websites, SEO, and AI automation, in plain English. Search below or browse by topic.

General
What does Dawn Studio do?

We build fast, custom websites, get them ranking on Google with SEO, and wire AI into the busywork behind them. It is three connected services from one small team, so your site, your visibility and your admin all work together.

Do you offer SEO and AI automation as well as websites?

Yes. Alongside website development we handle SEO to get you found on Google and AI tools like ChatGPT, and AI automation to run the repetitive admin. You can take one service or all three.

Can you work with businesses anywhere?

Yes. We work with businesses across the UK and beyond. Everything is done online, so where you are based is no barrier to working together.

Websites
How much does a website cost?

A starter site begins at £999 as a one-off. Larger builds with SEO and AI automation are quoted as a fixed price you agree before we start, with no hourly surprises. See pricing →

Is there a monthly fee to have a website?

Only if you want one. The build itself is a one-off cost. After that you need hosting, which is usually a small monthly or yearly amount, and we set it up for you. Ongoing SEO or support is a separate plan you choose. There is no hidden subscription just to keep the site online.

How long does it take to build a website?

Most sites go from first call to live in about a week. A larger multi-page build with SEO and automation typically lands within two to three weeks. You see a real preview before anything is finalised.

Do you use WordPress or a page builder?

No. We hand-build with modern web standards rather than dragging blocks around a page builder. That is why our sites load in under a second and score near-perfect on Google's Core Web Vitals. There is no theme bloat or plugin weight slowing them down.

Is it cheaper to build the website myself?

A website builder looks cheaper on day one, but you pay for it in time, slower pages, and a template that looks like everyone else's. A hand-built site loads faster, ranks better and is made around your business, which usually earns back the difference. If budget is tight, we will tell you honestly what is worth paying for.

Can I edit the website myself afterwards?

Yes. We can wire in a simple content editor so you can change text, images and prices yourself without touching code, or handle updates for you on request, whichever you prefer.

What makes a good business website?

Speed, clarity and a clear next step. It should load almost instantly, look sharp on a phone, say what you do in seconds, and make it obvious how to get in touch. Good design is not decoration, it is guiding a visitor toward becoming a customer.

SEO & AI Search
How much does SEO cost?

SEO plans start from £150 a month, agreed up front. A Site plus SEO package is £1,899 one-off plus SEO from £150 a month. It is an ongoing service rather than a one-off, because search keeps moving and so do your competitors.

What is included in the monthly SEO fee?

Ongoing keyword work, on-page improvements, content, technical monitoring and a monthly report. We agree the scope up front so you know exactly what you are paying for. Plans start from £150 per month.

How long does SEO take to work?

SEO is a longer game than paid ads. Most businesses start seeing movement within two to three months, with meaningful results by around six months. The exact timing depends on how competitive your market is and where your site starts.

Is it worth paying for SEO?

For most businesses, yes, as long as it is done properly. SEO brings people who are already searching for what you sell, and a page that ranks keeps working without you paying per click like you would with ads. We are upfront about what to expect before you spend anything.

Can I do SEO myself?

You can do the basics, and we are happy to point you in the right direction. But SEO that actually moves the needle takes time, tools and constant tweaking that most business owners cannot spare. We handle the technical work and the ongoing effort so you can stay focused on running the business.

What are the different types of SEO?

There are three main areas. Technical SEO makes sure Google can crawl and trust your site. On-page SEO is the content and structure of your pages. Off-page SEO is your reputation across the web, like links and reviews. Add local SEO for businesses that serve an area. We cover all of them as one plan.

Do you guarantee first page rankings?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's results, so a guaranteed ranking is a red flag. What we guarantee is proper white hat work on the things that actually move rankings, plus clear reporting so you can see the progress for yourself.

Do I need SEO if my website is brand new?

Yes, and starting early is an advantage. A new site has no ranking history, so the sooner the foundations and content are right, the sooner Google starts trusting it. We build every site SEO ready from day one, then grow it from there.

Can you help me show up in ChatGPT and AI search?

Yes. This is called answer engine optimisation, and it is becoming as important as ranking on Google. Tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI overviews recommend businesses they can read clearly and trust. We set up the structured data, clear answers and authority signals that make your business one an AI is happy to name.

AI Automation
What is the difference between AI and automation?

Automation follows fixed rules, like sending a reminder when a form is filled in. AI adds judgment, like reading an enquiry and drafting a sensible reply in your voice. We combine the two, so the routine steps run automatically and the parts that need a bit of thinking are handled well, with you approving anything that matters.

What kind of tasks can you automate?

Anything repetitive and rule based. Common ones are capturing and sorting enquiries, drafting replies, booking calls, sending follow-ups and reminders, and moving information between your apps. If you find yourself doing the same admin over and over, it can probably be automated.

Will I lose control of how I talk to customers?

No. You decide what runs automatically and what waits for your approval. AI drafts replies in your voice, but you can set it so nothing sends until you have read and approved it. You stay in charge of anything that matters.

What tools does the automation connect to?

We work with the tools you already use, including your website forms, email, calendar, and most popular CRMs and messaging apps. We build the automation around your setup rather than asking you to switch everything.

Do I need to be technical to use AI automation?

Not at all. We build it, connect it and support it. You carry on with your day while the automation runs in the background, stepping in only to approve the things you have asked to approve.

Can my business be fully automated?

Parts of it, not all of it, and that is the point. The repetitive admin can largely run itself, while the work that needs a human, your judgment, relationships and decisions, stays with you. We automate the busywork so you have more time for the things only you can do.

How can AI help a small business?

It gives a small team the capacity of a much bigger one. Enquiries get answered in seconds, leads never slip through the cracks, follow-ups happen on their own, and information stops living in one person's inbox. You look more responsive to customers while spending less time on admin.
