Who we are

Dawn Studio builds websites, provides SEO, and sets up AI automation for businesses, with a specialism in accountancy practices. We are based in Manchester and work with clients across the North West and the rest of the United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Dawn Studio is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any question about how we handle your data, email hello@dawnstudio.co.uk and a real person will reply.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set any cookies. There is no advertising technology on it, no social media pixels, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It is a privacy-focused tool that does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. It reports aggregated figures only, so we can see that a page was visited without knowing who visited it.

Fonts used on this site are served from our own server rather than a third-party font service, so loading a page does not send your details anywhere else.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

If you fill in a form on this site, we collect the information you choose to give us. That is usually your name, your email address, sometimes your practice or company name and phone number, and whatever you write in the message.

We use it only to reply to you and to have a conversation about working together. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to get in touch, which is either your consent or the steps needed before entering a contract.

When you visit the site

Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This happens automatically on essentially every website and is used to keep the site running, secure and fast. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functioning website.

If we contact you first

We sometimes introduce ourselves by email to businesses we believe would benefit from our work, using business contact details that are publicly available or supplied by the business itself. We only do this with corporate subscribers such as limited companies and limited liability partnerships.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, specifically promoting a relevant business service to another business. We identify ourselves clearly in every message, we tell you how to stop hearing from us, and we act on that immediately. If you reply asking us to stop, we will, and we keep a minimal record of your request so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We do use a small number of trusted service providers to run the business:

• Vercel hosts this website and provides the analytics described above.
• FormSubmit processes submissions from our contact forms and delivers them to our inbox.
• Our email provider stores the correspondence between us.

Some of these providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid legal request.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us, then deleted. Records relating to actual client work are kept for six years after the work ends, which reflects normal UK business and tax record keeping. Opt-out requests are kept indefinitely, because that is the only way to be sure we do not contact you again.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Ask us to delete your data
• Ask us to restrict or stop processing it
• Object to processing we carry out under legitimate interests, including any marketing
• Ask for your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, email hello@dawnstudio.co.uk. We will respond within one month and there is no charge. You never have to give a reason for asking us to stop marketing to you.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping your data safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, we keep the number of places your data lives to a minimum, and we do not collect information we do not need. Automations we build for clients are designed so the client stays in control of their own client data, and we do not move that data somewhere new without agreeing it first.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This policy was last updated on 24 July 2026.
